Verification summary
Willis Farms is a multi-generation farm in Tennessee, implementing the use of No-till planting on soybeans, cover crops and variable rate N applications/split applications. The auditors were provided with geo-referenced photos of the no-till planters used on the farm. A geo-referenced photo of a cover crop coming in around corn stubble was also provided, along with receipts for cover crop seed, to demonstrate the use of cover crops. Variable rate and split rate N-applications were demonstrated through the map printouts from the fertilizer spreader. Corroborating evidence included the Granular summary of the dates of various activities, including fall soil sampling for fertility status. Most lands are owned directly by Willis Farms. For those fields not fully owned by Willis farms, signed statements from the owners indicated their consent for the project, and that any carbon credits associated with the project would belong to Willis Farms. Evidence of crop insurance for all parcels was also provided. Willis Farms is conducting the project activities in question and is in control of the lands of the project.
